Gal and the real estate developer, who later delved into producing alongside her, have been married since 2008 and are the proud parents of three daughters: Alma, aged nine; Maya, aged four; and baby Daniella, who was welcomed into the world by the actress in June.

ELLE, in announcing the action star as one of its honorees for the event, highlighted reports of her standing up against ‘on-set mistreatment’ from Joss Whedon, who replaced the director of Justice League. The magazine referenced a Hollywood Reporter article that detailed Gal’s bold confrontation with Whedon after he allegedly behaved abusively towards her when she voiced concerns about the dialogue of Wonder Woman in the film.

Gal defended herself against Whedon’s aggressive dialogue that she felt did not align with the character as portrayed in the first Wonder Woman movie. He reportedly threatened to make her look foolish in the movie, according to a source. Despite feeling frightened post-confrontation, Gadot stood her ground, and she and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins even had a meeting with then–Warner Bros. chairman Kevin Tsujihara to resolve the matter.

“Once it happened, I wasted no time in shaking things up. The big shots at Warner Brothers handled it well,” Gal shared. Moving on to the feeling of righteousness within me…you’re left stunned by what was said,” she continued. “If he said it to me, then surely he’s said it to others. I just did what I believed was right. It was important to let people know that such behavior is unacceptable.

Gal’s next project is the action comedy Red Notice, where she will co-star alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, set to be released by Netflix in November. She is also preparing to portray Cleopatra in an upcoming film that will once again team her up with Jenkins.
