Damp, chilly, and downright unpleasant – it was one of those mornings where staying in bed seemed like the best choice. However, Emma Watson had a new film to promote, so hitting the snooze button was out of the question. The British actress was up and about early in the morning, facing the pouring rain for a guest spot on Good Morning America on Friday.
Emma Watson maintained her cheerful demeanor, smiling and waving to the onlookers despite the heavy rain as she made her way to the Good Morning America studio on Friday morning.
Looking stunning as ever, Emma stood out as she arrived at the studio in New York, ready to discuss her latest project, the Disney classic Beauty And The Beast remake. Despite the rainy weather, Emma had a bright smile on her face and her hair was elegantly styled in a ruffled braided updo. An assistant was there to shield her from the rain with an umbrella, allowing Emma to greet the fans who had gathered despite the early hour.
Keeping busy: The 26-year-old actor is currently portraying the character of Belle in the new live-action version of the beloved 1991 animated film. She is fully occupied with promoting the upcoming movie.
Duck and Shelter: Emma had a helpful assistant ready to shield her from the rain with an umbrella, ensuring her makeup stayed flawless for her role in the live-action remake of a beloved animated film. The 26-year-old actress has been taking singing lessons to enhance her performance as Belle, even though filming is done and the movie is set to release on March 17th. Watson shared in an interview with the Daily Mail that singing lessons have improved her acting and speaking voice, as well as her breathing, making it a discipline she enjoys.
Hey there! The actresses had their hands free to wave to the early morning crowds. Emma, known for her role as Hermione Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies, had to showcase her singing skills to director Bill Condon in order to land the part. However, she only agreed to audition if she could first review the script to ensure her character Belle reflected her belief in adventure, wanderlust, and heroism as a feminist. Emma reminisced about her audition, mentioning she had just three hours in a recording studio. While it was a raw performance, both Bill and Disney were pleased with the outcome.
Making her way through various promotional stops, Emma made her way to SirusXM for another interview after her appearance on GMA.
Emma’s intricate hairstyle was on display in the studio, adorned with beautiful braids.
However, Watson, who stars alongside Dan Stevens as the Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston in the fantasy film, admitted that going through the audition process was still nerve-wracking for her. It had been years since she last had to sing, so she felt uneasy about her abilities. Sharing her experience, she said, “I hadn’t sung since I was about 12. This was something I’d always wanted to do, but I thought, ‘is my voice still there?’ I just hadn’t used it, but it was a very pleasant surprise to find it was still there. I just had to kind of unearth it!”
Expressing her love for the character Belle, Watson mentioned that Belle is ‘one of my absolutely favorite Disney characters.’ She was overjoyed when she landed the part in the film, which is based on the 1740 fairy tale La Belle et la Bete by French author Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont.
Coming soon: The 26-year-old actor takes on the character of Belle in the highly anticipated live-action version of the beloved 1991 animated film. Set to be released on March 17th, fans can look forward to seeing her bring the iconic role to life on the big screen.
She mentioned that the character is intelligent, sensitive, kind, and romantic. It’s not as if she lacks emotions just because she is smart. Belle is a character who challenges stereotypes about feminists being hostile towards men.
Belle’s reluctance to marry is not driven by a distaste for men. She is more interested in discovering the world, going on adventures, and maintaining her independence. She seeks a partner who will support and encourage her rather than limit her. Her desire for a relationship is based on her own terms.
